People suck

On April 15, 2013 at exactly 2:49 pm a bomb exploded a few minutes later another exploded. Those two bombs killed three innocent people (including a eight-year old child) and injured more than 260 people. The two men (if you want to call them that) were eventually found, one was killed and the other in custody. Both culprits have been or will be punished due to their horrible actions. But in no way does that make what they did okay. It does not bring back those that have died or heal those that have been injured, it does not change history. Nothing can ever erase the pain and sorrow we experienced, as a country. But what we can do to ease the pain is come together and help each other heal, help each other get back on out feet. However, we are doing quite the opposite. We are calling each other "terrorists", abusing and harassing one another. Instead of coming together as a country, we are attacking MORE innocent people simply because they share the same religion as those terrible men. What everyone needs to realize is that Islam did not hurt the people injured/killed in the bomb, those two cowards did. Why is the entire Muslim population of America being blamed for something they didn't do? Why are others making us feel as if we don't belong on the same ground as the rest of the American population? Last time I checked I was an American citizen so doesn't that make this country my home too? And last time I checked my rights included freedom of religion. I, and no one else, should be punished for practicing our rights. We should not be accused of terrorism because of the religion we practice. And an entire religion should not be held responsible for actions that some idiots committed. They DO NOT in ANY WAY represent our entire religion. What do you think?

  1. In all honesty I have heard time and time again racial comments such as calling someone a “terrorist” ect. made in Oakcrest. Every time I just say “wow that’s really not cool.” Stereotypes are made all over the world and they’re unfair to those who fall under a certain category because of how they look or what religion they practice. The men that bombed Boston apparently did so for their religion, but all it did was make the people that practice the same religion look bad… It’s pretty upsetting that people are so close-minded that they stereotype people into unflattering characteristics.
The title of this post really nailed it, people DO suck.

  2. I agree with you in every single way. There is absolutely no reason for two people of like faith or mindset to be treated in such a way as those that act with the sole purpose of harming others. The shame of this world is that one of the “rules” we live by is guilt by association. If we believe someone was involved than they may as well have been. However, just because there are people who are ignorant of the situation at hand does NOT mean that their behavior should be tolerated. Harassing women who have every right to be here just like we do is absolutely ridiculous. There needs to be laws set in place to protect these poor women and if that weren’t able to work Americans need to be educated and informed of who is actually held responsible for these heinous crimes. It breaks my heart to see these women so afraid and the harassment and ill treatment needs to come to an end;the stereotyping has come to far.

  3. This post really exposes modern society as a whole. We have created stereotypes for just about every type of person and now we are using the stereotypes as a scapegoat for something that a particular group is not responsible for. This reminds me particularly of a time when I was at an Eagles game. There was a man parked close to our tailgate and two men passing threw him harmful and threatening remarks because he had an Islamic bumper sticker and we were at war with in Iraq. Because this man looked middle eastern, the two men immediately viewed him as a terrorist and deemed him responsible for the war. Our society is sickening and this year has really proved how terrible society is. From The Sandy Hook situation to the bombings, it is never just the individuals who are blamed for the crime alone. The blame sadly is placed on a group of people who the criminal claims to have the same opinions as.
